Privacy policy

Hill View Cottage is a private holiday let operated by Oliver Jacobs. Contact: stay@cottageinthecotswolds.rent.

When you submit a booking request, we collect your first name, email address, chosen dates, guest count, and pricing details associated with your stay. If you contact us by email or phone, we keep the information you provide so we can respond.

Like most websites, our hosting and analytics providers may process technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) in server logs or analytics tools to keep the site secure and understand usage.

We use booking details to check availability, confirm or decline requests, prepare for your stay, and communicate about your booking. We do not sell your personal data.

We may share information with service providers who help us run the website, email, or SMS notifications (for example hosting on Vercel and email delivery), only as needed to provide those services.

We process booking data to take steps at your request before a contract and, once confirmed, to perform our contract with you. We rely on legitimate interests for basic site security and analytics where applicable.

We retain booking and correspondence records for as long as needed to manage your stay, meet tax or legal obligations, and resolve disputes — typically up to seven years for financial records where required.

You may ask for access, correction, or deletion of your personal data where applicable law allows. Contact us at stay@cottageinthecotswolds.rent. You may also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you believe we have handled your data unlawfully.

We use essential cookies for site functionality (such as admin sessions). Analytics cookies may be used if Google Analytics is enabled; you can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the bottom of this page will change when we do.
